A vintage Persian Hamadan Gallery carpet. In a Malayer design style, but with the brightest imaginable Herati design based on a central column of fringed lozenges in yellow and off white. Jagged ‘fish’ leaves in light blue, cerulean blue, rust and green swirl about on the black field. The dark blue main border shows a Malayer-style tendril and fringed pyramidal palmette pattern. Probably west Persian village work.
