A vintage Persian Karajeh carpet from the mid-20th century. This sand toned NW Persian village carpet from the Persian Heriz district show three columns of characteristic Karajeh octogrammes alternating with hooked hexagons, against a close scatter-fill of jagged leaves, boxes, small flowers, and other geometric devices, outlined in brown and accented in pale blue-grey, green, and dark teal. The narrow border displays flower and leaf modules. Relatively few Karajas are in room sizes and are generally in much smaller sizes or in runner format.
