Vintage Persian Malayer Accent Rug

The brown field of this village scatter shows a pattern derived from many sources: the open central lozenge and rosette from the Herati design; the vestigially ragged palmettes from the Harshang pattern; and the banded round tilted palmettes from the “Vase” carpets. The straw border shows a tendril with rosettes and leaves. Medium weave, cotton foundation.
