Vintage Persian Square Textile

Wool pattern warps and wefts on a warp- and weft-faced plainweave. The vertical bands, each edged with narrow, color-matched guard lines, are bold in scale, while the receding crossbars are offset in pairs. The result is a large-scale plaid in which the dark red and blue squares visually recede. Qashghai work, and a classic moj plaid in an unusually large format.
