Vintage Persian Tabriz Accent Carpet

This light palette urban well-woven carpet shows a large diamond lattice pattern deriving from Caucasian Zeychur rugs, but expanded into a larger scale, with barbed diagonal leaves and a scatter of small filler elements. A central series of squares ties the pattern together. Main border of fat ashiks in the Caucasian style. Semi-geometric allover drawing. Tabriz is the capital of Persian Azerbaijan and influences from Caucasian Azerbaijan across the river are always welcome. Cotton foundation. Caucasian Zeychurs are not found in this size.
