Vintage Persian Tabriz Carpet

This well-woven city carpet shows a centralized, but not medallion, pattern of four turtle palmettes forming an open diamond, with ragged palmettes, winged palmettes, weeping willows and cartouches as secondary elements. Strip-style border of two palmette types and thick tip-curled leaves.  Works in those contexts requiring an allover pattern, reduced tonality piece.
