Vintage Persian Tabriz Pictorial Rug

A light blue creek with four ducks flows diagonally from the left edge, through a copse of flowering trees and past verdant meadows. Three grazing sheep and a building are at the right side of this Tabriz rug. A Persian inscription in the lower border provides other details. The rug was woven sideways (short warp) to speed up the construction process. The weave is fine and the pile is clipped short.
