Vintage Persian Textile

Wool pattern warps and wefts on a warp- and weft-faced plainweave. This exceptional tripartite moj employs a modified all-browns palette. Moj textiles are almost always quadripartite, so this example features panels over two feet wide. There is crossbar irregularity, with lighter passages one, two, three, or four squares wide. The original band measured over two feet by approximately thirty feet. Qashghai work, with visible pattern offsetting.
