Vintage Persian Textile

Wool pattern warps and wefts on a warp- and weft-faced plainweave. With moderate offsetting of the light horizontal bands and strong light verticals, this ecru, red, and dark blue piece shows at least six repairs or lacunae, indicating genuine tribal use. Herringbone and twill color-mixed squares appear throughout. The indigenous repairs add character to the textile. Qashghai work, originally part of a 28-foot parent band.
