Antique Caucasian Karabagh Rug

This is a Caucasian Karabagh rug employing the classic two medallion Fachralo Kazak from Armenian weavers in the SW Caucasus. The dark brown, usually red, field displays two hooked octogram ivory medallions.  The yellow border of veined, slanted saw tooth leaves and rams’ horn flowers is seen, in various variations, throughout the Caucasus.
