Antique Indian Agra Carpet

An antique Indian Agra carpet. Few Agras are in scatter sizes, and this attractive example with a central field area in an ivory small flower and arabesque pattern flanked by bold “X”'s in navy, all in a quasi-Caucasian design. This is one of the many Agra patterns with no traditional name and this is precisely what gives Indian carpets their desirability. The blue border has been adapted from Caucasian rugs and this further eclecticism makes this rug even more interesting.
