Antique Indian Lahore Carpet

An antique Indian Lahore carpet. Looks like a classic Agra with a wine red lac field closely covered with various types of palmettes, along with lancet leaves, vines, and serpentine cloud bands. The blue-black border alternates in-and-out palmettes in the 17^th century Indo-Isfahan manner. The pattern is biaxially balanced on this classic northern Indian city carpet.
