A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This somewhat enigmatic small piece shows a straw field with a schematic rose and a matching rose in the flap above, thus supporting a Karabagh attribution. The main black border presents reversing carnation in the Heriz manner, with corner palmettes. May be a Koran bag face with the flap intended to protect the book. Or a chanteh face with back and suspension cord lacking.
