Antique Persian Bidjar Accent Carpet

A wool pile of symmetric knots on a wool foundation. The navy field expands at the corners to support a straw eccentric lattice enclosing rosettes, quincunxes, and leaves, while contracting along the sides to accommodate a hexagon chain. The ecru field is pointed at the sides and ends and displays a small allover Herati design. A navy border carries a strip-style reversing turtle pattern, set within an ecru plain outer surround that is slightly reduced at one end. Ecru minor borders feature winged reversing fan palmettes.
