Antique Persian Bidjar Rug

An antique Persian Bidjar rug. A village creation, this rustic Kurdish scatter with a board-like handle shows a large sand hexagon on the abrashed dark brown field with a column of lesser hexagons and fringed cypress (?) trees at each side. The varied light brown border features a chain of small, quartered octagons. The pattern is totally abstract with a good light/dark contrast.
