Antique Persian Heriz Carpet

An antique Persian Heriz carpet. This village medallion carpet from the Heriz district in northwest Persia has an all-natural dye palette with a particularly attractive light blue field holding a rust red subfield. The drawing is semi-geometric with abstract flowers, buds and vines. The navy of the main border reads as black and matches the central octogram medallion and has a stretched version of the turtle border framing the vigorous drawing.
