Antique Persian Sarouk Rug

An antique Persian Sarouk rug. This unusual west Persian well-woven ruglet follows the basic detached floral spray design protocols of the larger “American”-style Sarouk carpets, although the field here is a light pearl rather than a rich red. At each end of the field is a vase with daisies. The outlines of both field and border elements are mostly done in a crisp dark amber with a few rust details.
