An antique Persian Tabriz rug. The ‘bookcover’ pattern features a rust subfield enclosing a scalloped ogival dark blue floriated medallion within matching extended corners and sub-corners en suite to the ivory octofoil in the exact center. This finely woven ruglet may be ascribed to the c. 1900 ‘Hajji Jalili’ period in Tabriz weaving.
