An antique Turkish Oushak rug. The salmon buff open field of this western Anatolian workshop scatter displays two giant ragged brown palmettes derived ultimately from 18th century Smyrna Oushak carpets. The brown border show very simple smooth bent leaves and few hyper-abstract floral elements. This rug is bold as any Kazak, but with a more mellow palette.
