Vintage Persian Bakthiari Rug

A vintage Persian Bakhtiari rug. En suite to rug # 25185, this Persian scatter woven by the Bakhtiari tribe, but in the style of Persian Joshegan rugs, has, instead of the usual dark blue, red or ivory field, a sandy camel ground with a smooth, not stepped central medallion. The wine red border also displays petalled palmettes differing from the classic angular palmettes and doubly bent intermediate leaf arabesques.
