Vintage Persian Mahal Rug

A vintage Persian Mahal rug. A tiny rustic mosaic color sampler diamond has slipped into the center of the  red/orange red open field with a tiny squares pattern. The beige extended corners with their jagged and involute patterns reappear on both Heriz and Tabriz carpets. Clearly a city rug, but the narrow ivory border of rosettes has a rustic air.
