A vintage Persian Tabriz carpet. This interwar Tabriz carpet shows three ivory octogramme medallions floating on a soft dove grey field with pairs of geometric peacocks, all in the Caucasian/Mishkin manner. The narrow main border of hooked squares is derived from Turkmen carpets. Tabriz is near the Caucasus and the passage of influences is to be expected.
