A wool pile of symmetric knots on a cotton foundation. This clearly bespoke, exceptionally long carpet displays a faded coral-red to salmon field decorated with a variation of the flower-and-spray pattern in two large, complete repeats. The flowers are generally fanciful, although several resemble carnations, and are rendered in ecru, beige, pale blue, taupe, olive, rust, and dark brown. The small central motif is dominated by diminutive rounded buds. The muted blue-gray to olive-gray main border turns neatly at the corners and features petal palmettes alternating with reversing palmettes enclosed by rinceau wreaths. A special carpet created for a particular setting.
