An antique Persian Shiraz carpet. The old ivory field of this attractive and well-woven Fars Province tribal carpet is centered by a pole medallion of three fringed, conjoint diamonds each displaying a symmetrized turtle palmette. Cross hatches, octagons and other small geometric are artistically scattered in the field. The multiple border designs include chained arrowheads, boteh-hexagons and fan palmettes with serrated leaves.
