Antique Turkish Oushak Carpet

An antique Persian Turkish Oushak carpet. An enormous, bold reversing turtle palmette border on a  salmon-buff ground makes a powerful frame for the ivory, flower-filled stepped medallion. The end panels in the field have half-rosettes making a zig-zag design. Looks like a Heriz of the c. 1900 period, but with lighter, less saturated colors.
